Our business is located in Ann Arbor and we needed substantial additional parking due to the
growth of our business. Also, we have a tenant sharing our facility and wanted to keep the
inconvenience to them to a minimum. Although cost was a major issue, we were looking for
a contractor who could bring the job in on time and stick to strict deadlines. This was a major
project and required the removal tens of thousands of square feet of failed asphalt on our
existing parking lot and complex excavation and ground clearing to build a new additional parking lot.
The architectural plans required the installation of concrete islands and curbing and tree removal
and proper gravel installation for drainage. Tom suggested that instead of removing and hauling
away the failed asphalt that instead it be pulverized and used as gravel for the new addition.
His idea not only saved time but money as well. His men also notice that no provisions were made
for the underground conduit necessary for the lighting needed at the islands.
This attention to detail prevented major cost overruns in the future. T. Burke installed both parking lots
before the deadline and the work is top notch. I am so glad we hired Tom and his company.

approximately 220,000 square feet of sod and the installation of approximately 30,000 tons of limestone

Our cemetery wanted to do something to improve its overall appearance and make life easier
on those that come to visit their loved ones. I was talking to a friend of mine who owns another
cemetery nearby and he was telling me how pleased he was about the new roads he had installed
the previous year. What really caught my attention was how pleased he was with the contractor -- T. Burke.
I looked at his roads and they were beautiful so I decided to give T. Burke a call.
I wanted to pave over three miles of roadway, but parts of the cemetery had old thin broken asphalt
that seemed too far gone to go over. After speaking with Tom, I learned that indeed the roads
were not a good candidate for a resurfacing. Tom recommended instead that we pulverize the
old asphalt and use the pulverized material to supplement the existing sub-base. Tom did so and
then graded the roadway and installed the asphalt. It improved the appearance of the cemetery 100%.
Tom paved over three mile of roadway at a price I did not think was possible.
